Located on 17 acres of the former Miami Orange Bowl site in Miami, FL, the Florida Marlins Ballpark (LoanDepot Park) was the very first project produced at Metromont’s Bartow manufacturing facility. Designed by architecture firm Populous, the 37,000-seat structure is an abstract representation of water merging with land. The exterior structure of the stadium itself was constructed from cast-in-place concrete. Metromont produced 64,413 SF of precast concrete for the interior, including stadium seating, spandrels, stairs and landings, and vomitory walls. Construction of the ballpark was completed in March 2012 for the 2012 season. The 928,000-SF structure features a 5.27 acre retractable roof and is LEED Gold certified. The ballpark is the recipient of multiple awards, including the 2012 Best Projects –Engineering News and Record; 2012 Best of the Best – Engineering News and Record; and 2013 Gold Award – IIDA Mid-America Design Awards (MADA).
