Metromont is pleased to announce the promotion of Chuck Gantt to Senior Vice President of Georgia and Carolina Operations, Tony Smith to Vice President and General Manager for Georgia, Chris Rogers to Vice President and General Manager for the Carolinas, and Steve Babcock to Vice President of Engineering and Drafting for Georgia and Carolina Operations. John Wenkel, current Vice President and General Manager for Georgia will collaborate with Chuck and Tony to facilitate the transition of his responsibilities until his retirement later this year.

Chuck Gantt joined Metromont in 1997 in a Project Management role and progressed through various leadership positions within Metromont, most recently serving as Vice President/General Manager for the Carolinas. He will lead Metromont’s business operations for Georgia and the Carolinas, with Tony Smith, Chris Rogers, and Steve Babcock reporting to him.
Tony Smith started in Metromont’s Print/Mail Room in 1991. He gained extensive experience in Estimating and Sales and Business Development before serving as Vice President and Assistant General Manager in Georgia beginning in 2019.
Chris Rogers’ introduction to Metromont came through an internship program with Furman University. He joined the company full time in June of 2008 and progressed through a development program designed to prepare associates for future leadership opportunities before serving most recently as Director of Sales for the Carolinas.
Steve Babcock started his career in Metromont in 1996 as a Design Engineer under the tutelage of Senior Vice President of Engineering, Harry Gleich. Steve served in various engineering and business development roles within Metromont before accepting the leadership of the Engineering and Drafting Operations for the Carolinas in 2020. With this promotion, Steve will have responsibility for Engineering and Drafting Operations for the Carolinas and Georgia.
