Located in Naples, FL, the new headquarters for this confidential company in the healthcare industry includes a 300,000 SF office building and a six-level precast concrete parking garage providing 1,400 parking spaces. Precast concrete was selected for the parking garage and for the office building’s architectural cladding for its low maintenance, integral color, and because it aligns with the clean aesthetic desired by the owner much better than other building materials. Metromont’s Bartow team produced 476,135 SF of precast concrete with an architectural white cement finish for the parking deck and 65,896 SF of architectural precast cladding, also with an architectural white cement finish. The use of architectural precast cladding for the office building’s exterior provides a consistent look to the campus while also delivering a low-maintenance solution.
The buildings were designed to entwine, with the garage serving as the main shear resistance and structural support for the office building. The office structure cantilevers over the top of the parking garage and bears on the precast columns, transferring the loads through the parking garage. The structures are adjacent until above the fifth floor. At that point, the office steel columns are supported by the precast columns and several levels of the office building continue above the parking deck.
To keep work moving on both projects as quickly as possible, Metromont utilized multiple cranes onsite throughout the duration of precast installation. The team worked east to west, erecting the precast structural elements on the parking garage or the architectural precast cladding for the office building. The completed structures reflect a cohesive design that effectively integrates function with sleek aesthetic.
